6 best players in East Group C of 2023 NBA In-Season Tournament, ranked

The Boston Celtics, Brooklyn Nets, Toronto Raptors, Chicago Bulls, and Orlando Magic are all in East Group C in the inaugural NBA In-Season Tournament. Given the way the NBA has divided up the teams, each group will include a number of talented players, but these are the top six in terms of overall performance.

6 – Mikal BridgesAfter being traded from the Phoenix Suns to the Brooklyn Nets in the middle of last season, Mikal Bridges experienced a meteoric rise in productivity, going from a role player (albeit a very excellent one) to the best player on his new team. He played in 27 games for the Brooklyn Nets, averaging 26.1 points per contest. This was an increase of nearly nine points from his season-long scoring average in Phoenix. At 26, he has lots of time to develop, and after spending the entire season in Brooklyn, he may have already surpassed two of the players ahead of him on this list by the time the NBA Playoffs begin. LaVine, ZachIt’s difficult to put LaVine below Kris Dunn, the Bulls’ other top player, but he didn’t have the year he’s capable of and ends up at number five. Although LaVine has always had detractors, he has proven in recent years that he is a truly good NBA player, so this isn’t much of a knock. LaVine, a freak athlete, is an unstoppable scorer when on his game, yet he has been less focused on scoring in recent years. The two-time All-Star is a key player in the NBA’s regular season tournament and will be heavily scouted by other teams.

Fourth, DeMar DeRozanDeMar DeRozan will be 35 years old by the start of the upcoming season, but he shows no signs of slowing down. In the previous season, DeRozan averaged 24.5 points on over 50% shooting, 4.6 rebounds, and 5.1 assists, making him one of the league’s deadliest mid-range scorers and earning him his sixth NBA All-Star appearance. Without the ability to consistently make three-point shots, this player possesses one of the most potent оffensive games in the league.

Thirdly, Pascal SiakamSiakam has been a major contributor for the Raptors since he emerged as a star in the 2018–19 season, when he won the NBA’s Most Improved Player Award as something of a Giannis Antetokounmpo-lite. However, there have been instances where it seems like the league is on to his plan, and he is being forced to diversify his repertoire beyond just his signature spin technique. Siakam is far from perfect, but he is a highly dangerous player who can pick apart defenses in a variety of ways, as seen by his 24.2 point, 7.8 rebound, and 5.8 assist averages from the previous season.Second, Jaylen BrownAt long last, we reach Boston’s explosive pair, the finest two players in the conference’s group for the NBA’s annual midseason tournament. Sаy what you will about Jaylen Brown’s ball handling, but it is strange how often he turns the ball over, especially in the postseason, on the third dribble, and to the left. Brown may not be flawless, but he excels at his strengths. He had a great year in 2017–18, scoring an average of over 27 points per game and earning himself a spot in the NBA All-Star Game for the second time and a spot on the NBA All-NBA Second Team for the first time. He is second fiddle in Boston only because of the last man on this list, but he would be first on most teams in the league.No. 1: Jayson TatumIt was obvious they should do this. At 25, Jayson Tatum has lots of time to develop into a top-tier NBA player, but he is already widely regarded as one of the league’s elite. His stats speak for themselves, as he put up over 30 points, 8.8 rebounds, and 4.6 assists a game last season. He made it to the All-Star Game for the fourth straight year, and he was named the MVP of the All-Star Game for the second year in a row. As proven by his 51-point performance in Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals against the Sixers last year, he can do about whatever he wants out on the court. In his own words, he is “unquestionably the best in East Group C of the NBA In-Season Tournament” and “one of the best basketball players in the world.”
