Description of the Vehicle Ford and Mercury devotees and collectors
I am delighted to present this 1970 Mercury Cougar Eliminator 428 Cobra Jet with Ram Air for sale, which is in impeccable condition and features all matching numbers. It is the final Eliminator in my collection, and I have reserved the most exceptional item for the end.
In addition to the original Eminger report, two construction sheets, a Marti report, and a reproduction window sticker, this stunning 1970 Cougar retains all but one fender of its original sheet metal and its all-numbers-matching drivetrain.
This beautiful Cougar was built on December 11, 1969, as a custom order and sold new on December 19, 1969, in Utah, where it has remained its entire existence. It is finished in its original Competition Blue with B\W houndstooth interior.
The interior of the vehicle is entirely original, with the exception of the drivers seat bottom, which has been replaced with factory-correct black/white houndstooth material. This is evident upon opening the driver’s door. Additional features include a deluxe interior package, a woodgrain steering wheel, a woodgrain center console, a remote driver’s mirror, black lap and shoulder seat belts, a rear bench seat in houndstooth, and black carpeting from front to back. The situation is not much more positive than that.
Subsequently, the heart of this large cat will be examined
Open the hood, and the original 428CJ with Ram Air, which conceals the original Holley carb, is located within the engine compartment. The motor is connected to the original #’s identical C-6 Select shift Cruise-O-Matic transmission, which supplies power to the original 3.50 traction-lok rear end. It also maintains the original exhaust system, with the exception of replacement mufflers. She ignites, operates, and executes in every capacity.
I am the third proprietor of this exceptional vehicle. In 1991, it was meticulously restored. While at a car show, it attracted the attention of SuperFord magazine. It was subsequently featured on the cover and the subject of a write-up in the March 1992 issue. In addition, it was awarded the first position at the Cougars Nationals. It continues to captivate audiences in every location where it is displayed. Contact me with any additional inquiries.
If you are in search of an exotic muscle car that will only increase in value, this Cougar is the one to have.
Spoilers Nothing can prevent it from being held down.
