One brand is on a mission to create the skimpiest bikini we’ve ever seen. Artist Joel Alvarez created what he calls the Black Tape Project, which he calls “tape art & alternative fashion” in the description on his Instagram account.
A specific selection of images is making waves, picturing a brunette model wearing a gold design that takes the barely-there swimwear trend to a whole new level.
Fashioned from metallic shapes, the “bikini” offers little covering to speak of.
Though the gold tape is strategically placed to technically make the look Instagram-friendly, it’s giving the #FreeTheNipple trend a run for its money.
The look was shot in Haiti, during what the artist shared was the “first time shooting blacktapeproject on the beach.”
A video the project posted on Instagram has already been viewed more than 47,000 times. On top, the gold pattern may not cover much of the model’s chest, but it creeps nearly all the way up her neck. There isn’t much coverage on the bikini’s bottom, the tape mimicking a high-cut swimwear brief.
When the video was shared on Reddit, the internet took no time to start commenting on the jaw-dropping creation.
Many pointed out the tan-lines you would get with such a creation and some even joked about that pain might be involved when it’s time to peel off the tape, piece-by-piece.
While this beach look may not actually be for sale, it’s certainly a head-turner if we’ve ever seen one.
